Requesting a marketplace integration

Overview

If you sell on a marketplace Keysender does not support yet, tell us about it. Where the marketplace has an API we can read orders from, we can often run a managed connection for a single seller in days rather than building a full integration. Some marketplaces cannot be connected at all, and this article explains which and why.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

• An active seller account on the marketplace, in good standing.
• Confirmation from the marketplace that your account is allowed to sell digital keys. Many restrict this to approved sellers.
• Access to the marketplace's API credentials, or the ability to request them.

Steps

Send us the request

1. Open the integration request form.
2. Name the marketplace and, if you know it, its API.
3. Tell us what you sell there and roughly how many orders a month. Volume is what tells us whether a managed connection is worth running.

What we check before saying yes

1. Whether we can read your paid, unfulfilled orders through the marketplace's API.
2. Whether we can mark an order fulfilled once its codes are delivered.
3. How the buyer receives the code. Either the marketplace gives us a delivery address, or it accepts the code and passes it on itself. If it does neither, there is no way to deliver and we will tell you so rather than take the work on.
4. Whether the marketplace permits third party digital keys at all.

What we need from you if it goes ahead

1. Your marketplace API key, and your Keysender API key and secret from Account, Settings, API Information.
2. An active delivery template on your Keysender account, and the name of the one buyers should receive.
3. Matching SKUs between your marketplace offers and your Keysender inventory, so each order finds its codes.
4. Stock in each inventory behind an active offer.

How a managed connection works

We run the connection on our own systems rather than adding a screen to your panel. It checks for paid orders every few minutes, creates the sale in Keysender against the inventory whose SKU matches the offer, waits until the codes are actually confirmed, and only then marks the order fulfilled on the marketplace. If anything stalls, we are alerted rather than you.

Confirm it works

We reply to every request by email. If a connection goes ahead, you place one test order yourself and confirm the code arrives in your own inbox before we switch the rest of your offers on.
